Chris was appointed to J.F.U.M.C. in June of 2011. Chris has a passion for Word & Spirit, his family, creative worship, preaching, music, and more. Chris believes that we can have an intimate, intense relationship with the Divine in this life through the power of the Holy Spirit and through supernatural encounters with the Divine, if we are willing to surrender our lives and awaken to God’s presence in us. Chris and his wife. Tiersa, have been blessed with 3 boys (17, 15 & 13) and a girl (4).
Prior to serving at J.F.U.M.C., Chris served as an Associate Pastor of a 2,600+ member church in Evans, GA named Wesley UMC. Chris graduated from Candler School of Theology in May, 2008. Prior to his call to ministry and completing his Masters of Divinity degree, he worked as a Quality Compliance Assessor for a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary in Athens, GA. Chris thought he would retire from J&J, but God had other plans. He is thankful for the shift from secular to sacred and for the privilege of stewarding the gifts of the Spirit, and shepherding salvation and sanctification in God’s people.
ACTS 11:19 – 24 – Chris calls this his “Life Verse” as he feels called to recognize and rejoice in the grace of God, help people come to know the Lord, and to encourage people to remain faithful with steadfast devotion regardless of what life brings.
